Well, governments and credit card companies are trying to censor the internet and force mandatory ID verification to access your favorite website, we disable access in order to protest and give more visibility into what's happening.
While this website is not accessible, NekoTM maintains its main projects and Cancerland's Timeline is still operating where the alpha testing is opened (access to ctm.nekotm.com ad_group), we won't stop any projects because a bunch of Karens starts policying with their morale nor because the average Occi-decadental person is so decadent and dislike the Moe culture (and we know, we mustn't stay in the past forever).
We as small webmasters won't have enough time, effort and money to spend for age verification since it involves storing very private and sensitive information about the users and is at risk of leaking (search "Tea app leaks", more than 500Gb worth of picture, ID and chats leaked), with the increasing number of data, the risk of leaks is even higher on smaller websites and companies and we probably don't want to take that risk.
At NekoTM we believe its not our role to prevent children accessing our service, WE ARE NOT PARENTS ! its not the government's either to substitute parent's role, only the parents should be responsible for how they raise their children.
The current law in France makes mandatory for every device to integrate parental control systems, since its mandatory, why not introduce these feature at device level ? or in the browser ? maybe introduce a new web standard like a header telling the website to restrict content ? This is a whole debate subject but there are better ways than sending your ID to random webmasters or governments...
